In the Nataraja, Shiva dances the Tandav inside a ring of flames called the Prabha Mandala. The ring is time itself, turning in an endless circle as the universe is created, held and destroyed, again and again. The flames are maya, a world that never stops changing. And at the exact centre, Shiva dances with a calm, smiling face, untouched by the fire around him. The symbol travels so far that since 2004, a two-metre Nataraja has stood at CERN in Geneva, where scientists study the dance of the universe's smallest particles.
This pendant is that ring of fire. Wear it as a reminder that life can spin and burn all around you, and you can still find your centre and stay there.
